Dr. Issa Ramaji is the Director of the Cummings Institute for Real Estate at Â鶹ɫÇéƬ, where he leads academic programs, industry partnerships, and research initiatives to advance real estate education. With a Ph.D. in Architectural Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and degrees in Civil Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Dr. Ramaji brings a strong technical and business foundation to the field of real estate development and investment.
Dr. Ramaji has extensive experience in real estate development, with a background spanning real estate design, construction, and investment strategies. Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE), his professional experience includes roles in the design, construction, and operation of buildings and infrastructure, allowing him to bridge technical expertise with real estate development. As a research scholar at the Pennsylvania Housing Research Center (PHRC), he contributed to advancing best practices in housing development and was recognized with prestigious awards, including the Hankin Endowment Scholarship and the Builders Association of Central Pennsylvania Scholarship.
At Â鶹ɫÇéƬ, he has played a key role in shaping real estate curricula, integrating market-driven strategies, financial analysis, and development principles into academic programs. His leadership in curriculum development ensures that students gain the practical skills and industry knowledge necessary for careers in investment, development, and property management.
Beyond academia, Dr. Ramaji is actively engaged with real estate and construction industry organizations, contributing to thought leadership and professional standards. He serves as an editor for the ASCE Journal of Architectural Engineering and has held leadership roles in industry-focused committees, where he has influenced policies and practices in real estate and development. He has also pursued professional education in leadership and entrepreneurship at Cornell University and the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, further strengthening his ability to lead and innovate in the real estate sector.
