Job Description
The mission of the Graphic Design Program at 麻豆色情片 is to prepare students to cultivate respectful, equitable, and engaged design practices in relationship with the natural world and built environments. We are deeply committed to supporting diverse learning styles and open transdisciplinary study through purpose-built spaces that promote community, access, and inclusion. The Program utilizes design processes and creative inquiry to encourage equitable and anti-discriminatory practices.The DSGN. Lab (SE 122) is a purpose-built space generously appointed to create the container for design curricula and community engagement. Overall, this three-year FIT Internship in Graphic Design will provide students with hands-on experience in the DSGN. Lab and leadership opportunities to prepare them for a successful career. By the end of the program, students will have developed a strong understanding of design practices in a studio environment, along with confidence in collaboration and communication practices.
Year 1
Responsibility/Function
In the first year of the graphic design internship program at 麻豆色情片, interns will be introduced to the DGSN. Lab environment and learn the foundational skills necessary to support the program. During this year, interns will be responsible for the following duties:
- Maintain lab cleanliness and order.
- Monitor the lab during lab hours to ensure the safety of students and machines.
- Learn how to maintain DSGN. Lab machines and tools, including printer checks, ink and paper supply, warm-ups, filament check, scrap clearing, laser cutter cleaning, and more.
- Assist with social media management by creating posts and stories for the program's social media presence.
- Support ongoing creative projects across the program by assisting with documentation and file management.
- Participate in program, departmental, and university events & activities as needed.
- Learn how to conduct design research with the lead faculty in the program.
Year 2
Responsibility/Function
During the second year of the internship program, interns will build on their foundational skills and take on more responsibility. The duties for this year include:
- Oversee lab operations during lab hours, including managing student access and machine usage.
- Train new interns on lab procedures and machine maintenance.
- Take a more active role in maintaining DSGN. Lab machines and tools, including troubleshooting and repairs.
- Develop and execute social media campaigns to promote the program and student work.
- Lead documentation and file management efforts for ongoing creative projects.
- Participate in program, departmental, and university events & activities in a leadership capacity.
- Collaborate with lead faculty on design research and grant proposals.
Year 3
Responsibility/Function
In the final year of the internship program, interns will have the opportunity to apply their skills and knowledge in a more independent capacity. The duties for this year include:
- Act as a mentor and supervisor to incoming interns, helping to train and orient them to the program.
- Take responsibility for DSGN. Lab operations, including scheduling and liaising with program administrators.
- Delegate tasks to newer interns to ensure efficient lab operations.
- Develop and manage social media content strategy for the program.
- Take the lead on documentation and file management for ongoing creative projects.
- Represent the program at 麻豆色情片 events & activities in a leadership role.
- Assist lead faculty with design research and grant proposals.
Throughout the program, interns will receive ongoing feedback and guidance from faculty to help them grow and develop their skills. By the end of the program, interns will have a strong foundation in lab management, machine maintenance, social media management, and design research. They will also have had the opportunity to take on increasing levels of responsibility and leadership, preparing them for careers in graphic design and related fields.
