Dr. Amiee Shelton is a Fulbright Scholar, and a seasoned communication specialist. With over ten years of televisions experience at some of the largest media corporations in the United States, she brings a strong practice base to her research and teaching. She is widely published in interdisciplinary peer reviewed journals. Her research focus is on practical applications to public relations ideas; evidenced with recent studies investigating stress in the PR field, arguing for service learning in European PR programs, and the need to expand PR education. However, her primary focus regards student development. To this end she regularly presents with undergraduate students at peer reviewed academic conferences, co-authors papers with undergraduates in peer reviewed journals and travels with students in both domestic and study abroad programs. Widely recognized for her student centered approach, she has been nominated multiple times for the excellence in teaching award at the university, and won the Mark Gould Award for teaching excellence once.
